The shape of these lamps recalls the old candle holders with handles, commonly called in Italian "bugia", a simplified name of the African city Bidgiaya which supplied most of the wax used to make candles! Luxy was the first lamp in the Rotaliana catalogue, designed in 2002: a model that is both original and familiar. It introduced elements in plastic material together with glass and metal and recalled the historical models of table lamps with balanced movements. It used both hidden springs and friction joints and, to make it more domestic, a colored glass hat that partially diffused the light in the room. After almost twenty years, the Luxy family grows: two new models, floor and table, characterized by simplified shapes, for purely domestic use. The hat, the element that most characterizes the Luxy lamp family, is re-proposed in new color variants: gold, copper, smoked.
Simple and elegant in its traditional appearance, it surprises by revealing the movement of the diffuser. This can be tilted to direct the light for reading and can also be turned upside down to indirectly illuminate the room.
