Its sculptural form arises from a simple geometric configuration that combines productive and functional intelligences, perfectly interpreting the characteristic features of Vico Magistretti's design.

Empatia represents an encounter between latest generation technology and ancient knowledge, it combines an innovative technological base with the beauty and uniqueness of hand-blown glass.

Mechanical intelligence and patented optical innovation allow the flat diffuser to direct its comfortable light with maximum freedom and minimum footprint of the base, ensuring correct illumination both on extended worktops and on smaller surfaces. Base in steel and aluminum, stem in steel, reflector in technopolymer and aluminum.

Its sinuous curves created by modeling a sheet of opal methacrylate delicately diffuse the light. It combines “simplicity and concept”, which for Magistretti are the basis of a design that lasts over time.

The diffuser is handmade in double-layered artistic glass, obtained with the artisan technique of blowing in a still mold and the consequent grinding, recalling in the final result the ancient Murano technique of wrought glass.
