The lamp is composed of a metal base, a wooden stem and a blown glass diffuser. The shape of these lamps recalls the old candle holders with handles, commonly called in Italian "bugia", a simplified name of the African city Bidgiaya which supplied most of the wax used to make candles! This anecdote today also accompanies the "modern" Bugia: a table or wall lamp with single or double light, as simple as it is ingenious.

Mechanical intelligence and patented optical innovation allow the flat diffuser to direct its comfortable light with maximum freedom and minimum footprint of the base, ensuring correct illumination both on extended worktops and on smaller surfaces. Luxy was the first lamp in the Rotaliana catalogue, designed in 2002: a model that is both original and familiar. It introduced elements in plastic material together with glass and metal and recalled the historical models of table lamps with balanced movements. It used both hidden springs and friction joints and, to make it more domestic, a colored glass hat that partially diffused the light in the room. After almost twenty years, the Luxy family grows: two new models, floor and table, characterized by simplified shapes, for purely domestic use. The hat, the element that most characterizes the Luxy lamp family, is re-proposed in new color variants: gold, copper, smoked.

The structure of the two arms is made with an extruded aluminium. The movement is balanced by the elastic cord, covered in colored synthetic fabric. The base of the table and floor lamps is in aluminum with cast iron ballast. The adjustable head, molded in plastic material, is comfortably gripped using the central hole. The touch switch controls an LED source.
