Generated by the repetition of an elementary module, Scopas materializes an incomplete, suspended sphere. With its ever-changing appearance depending on the point of view, it radically moves away from the register of pure and even monotonous forms usually associated with this type of lamp. Like the Black Star of the Empire, frozen in space, its unfinished appearance is the opposite of its technical efficiency.

In the vertical version, the Discovery suspension becomes a frame capable of interacting with the surrounding environment by framing perspectives or details and creates wings capable of modeling spaces through presence and absence given by its different levels of transparency.

The suggestive enveloping and open three-dimensional structure recalls the natural design of a clover. Almost a sculpture with large dimensions, but with extreme lightness. The light source, inserted in the meeting point between the three large petals, reflects the light on the internal surfaces in a play of references.
